Banglalink and ICT Division launch IT Incubator 2.0” To Facilitate Digital Entrepreneurship
Applications for the incubator are open now!


Banglalink, one of the leading digital communications service providers in Bangladesh, has started off the second phase of IT Incubator, a digital platform launched in collaboration with Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, a wing of ICT Division of Bangladesh Government, to foster the growth of promising digital startups in the country, said a statement sent to FS.

An announcement on the applications of Cohort 2 was made today at a press conference held at IT Incubator located in Janata Tower, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka today. Present at the press conference were Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director, Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority, Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink and other high officials of the two organizations.

Launched in July 2016, the Incubator program offers infrastructural, logistic and mentoring facilities to selected startups. On the basis of the uniqueness and commercial prospects of the participating startups, top teams will be selected and given the aforementioned facilities for one year at IT Incubator located in Janata Tower, Kawran Bazar. To apply for the program, interested startups have to apply through this link here. The timeline for application submission is 19 March 2018 – 5 April 2018.

IT Incubator is a part of ‘Make Your Mark’, the flagship Corporate Responsibility program of Banglalink’s parent company VEON. The renowned global telecom operator is committed to facilitating the development of the IT sectors of all the societies around the world it operates in.

Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director, Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority said, “IT Incubator has set an example of how the collaboration between the Government and a corporate organization can make a contribution to the IT sector.
